This circa 1850 building was home to some of Cape May's famous first families! Once owned by the Cakes, whose family briefly owned Congress Hall, George B. Cake was a signatory on the documents to change the name "Cape Island" to "Cape May", afterwards, it changed hands to the great grandson of Memucan Hughes, Revolutionary War veteran, whose home is now a museum on Washington Street. The Israel Putnam Hughes house remained in the Hughes family for nearly 100 years. There is off street parking on our paver driveway with room for two cars. Four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. Newly renovated, preserving the original details and character of our historic home while adding modern conveniences. Modern amenities include, Central air-conditioning and heating with dual zones, new appliances, premium mattresses and furnishings . Original random width southern yellow pine floors. Restored Victorian windows and clapboard siding following Cape May's historic district codes. Fully equipped kitchen with quartz counters and new stainless steel appliances. First floor bedroom with a Queen sized bed and a brand new, full bathroom with bathtub on the same floor. Spacious Second floor Master bedroom with en suite bathroom, king sized bed and a twin daybed with trundle. The third bedroom on the second floor contains twin bunk beds with a trundle. Plenty of room on the third floor loft for relaxation and recreation with a Queen bed and two twins. Smart TV’s throughout, WIFI, games, books and toys for a rainy day. Come sit on the cozy enclosed side porch or front porch for a drink after a day at the beach. Fenced in yard, outdoor shower and a Weber grill. Pack n play, child gate, high chair, booster seat, sit/stand stroller, 6 beach chairs, beach toys and a beach cart included. Please note sheets and towels are not included.
