Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Property was spacious for the 8 people in our party. The three levels allowed us to spread out. The kitchen was roomy and well stocked with dinnerware, cookware and appliances. Linens were clean and satisfactory. The interior was clean. Internet service was good and the patio/deck was nice. The property was stocked with various games and DVD's for entertainment. There was adequate parking.

Negative: The property was unairconditioned and we stayed at the property during what may have been the hottest weekend of the year. While each room had a fan, the property still became rather warm during the day but was close to tolerable in the evening. The property was rather dark and dated for a summer rental but perhaps in the winter it might be considered cozy. We found and killed several spiders, mostly on the lower level. The sofa bed on the lower level was broken and unusable as a bed (but functioned satisfactorily as a sofa). The patio windows were dirty and spoiled what was otherwise a nice view of the deck and the back yard. The curtain for the patio doors didn't open/close properly. One of the light bulbs in the upstairs bedroom was burned out and the lighting in the upstairs bath needed to be brighter. The very bottom corner of the front roofline (located at the bottom of the north stairs) represents a major potential head-knocker which one of my party found out rather painfully (thankfully no stitches were required). This needs to be reworked or padded. In addition to a $750/night room fee there was a $260 cleaning fee for our two night stay which I thought was excessive given that we were instructed on how to leave the property clean and followed the instructions to the best of our ability. There was also an $85 resort fee with nothing I would consider to be resort amenities available.

Summary: Generally pleasant, but for the money I feel the owners should step it up a notch.
