Kachina Splendor: Beautiful, unique, ground floor cottage, sleeps 4; a mere 15 minute drive to downtown Flagstaff. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac where rustic charm meets contemporary living!

Set within a stunning and unique A-Frame, multi-level house, this ground floor cottage is within an imposing home at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, nestled in the Pines.

This is a one bedroom unit, with private entrance and separate floor from the main home. (sleeps 4 maximum).
No parties or events are permitted at this property.
Please note:
You are renting the ground floor level of our home. The upper level of the home rents separately. There may be guests there while your reservation takes place.

The apartment is functional and beautifully adorned with epoxy floors, dark wood furnishings, a cozy leather sofa & armchair, along with a flat-screen television.

There is a dining table, compact kitchen tastefully upgraded with granite counter tops and dark wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, fridge freezer (with ice trays). The bathroom is equipped with single vanity and shower. There is a bedroom with queen sized bed.

This cute and cozy living space is a perfect getaway for Guests who long for a rural setting but still want an urban vibe!

There are endless things to do in this beautiful area. Enjoy the scenic hiking trails, Historic Route 66, along with wonderful restaurants and shopping in Downtown Flagstaff. Don’t forget that the Grand Canyon and Sedona are also nearby and you are only forty minutes away from the ski slopes, as well as beautiful hikes to the top of the Peaks. Kachina Village is such a beautiful and peaceful retreat in the forest, you might want to enjoy hiking the trails of the village itself.

We supply freshly cleaned linens, bedding, and towels for all our guests. We also supply paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish, dishwasher, and hand soap.

We do not supply shampoo, conditioner, or body wash.

Although often there will be a variety of condiments, coffee, etc we cannot guarantee what will be available.

As always, we put our guest's safety first. Our homes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, as well as the fact that linens are washed in the hottest setting and dried in the hottest setting. Our cleaning crew takes steps to protect themselves, such as wearing gloves and other personal protection equipment.

Pets are considered; however, we ask that you keep "4 on the floor" as we say in our house. Pets are not allowed on furniture or bedding. Also, please pick up after them outside. We allow one small to medium size dog. No vicious breeds. No other pets are permitted without Manager approval. There is a $50 pet fee.

Please note that this lovely one bedroom cottage is self contained in the lower level of a large home. The main home above also has a completely separate entrance and is located an entirely different level. If you are looking for accommodations for a large group, you can rent the entire home which comfortably houses 18 people.

Summary: Overall the place has good curb appeal, but unfortunately that's the best I can say about the bottom floor of the home. The non-central heating did not work. There's a thermostat that instructions stated would control the gas fireplace but it never kicked on despite visible pilot light. Being the basement of the home, and the concrete flooring meant it was much colder than expected. Probably great for the summer, but not the cool spring weekend we had for our stay. Back to the basement vibes, you could smell it as soon as you walked in. The few windows did not have screens, nor did the front door, so venting for air flow wasn't an option. The bathroom is VERY small, with little to no usable space on the vanity. The mirror cabinet above the sink had a few inches of space but most of it was taken up by the fuse box. Under the sink all space was taken up by towels. The shower head was practically in my face and I'm not super tall at 5'7". The slow drain in the shower added to the fun. Bedroom was small but comfy, though only one side of the bed had a nightstand with the other side lacking any kind of usable plugs without the need for an extension cord if you didn't want to keep the phone charger on the floor. As mentioned the floor above can be rented out and hopefully for you if you do rent this basement the renters above are less noisy than ours were as you could hear people walking and toilets flushing. Lastly, the Roku TV would lose its internet connection ALL THE TIME...
