The home is known as the Daffodil House because its primary color is a bright, cheerful yellow—a fun 1960s throwback with a Mad Men vibe. For the past ten years, the Daffodil House was the nanny’s house for Jody’s grandchildren.
The art from Jody’s personal collection of framed albums, campaign posters from Tom McCall’s 1969 Keep Oregon successful run for Governor! Dan Wyden, of Wyden &Kennedy fame, then a lowly intern to Westerdahl came up with a plan to use Ray Atkins photos of Oregon with the now famous logo to hype Tom’s campaign. Jody like every other Oregonian student papered their dorm rooms with these posters. There are other vintage posters of the 60’s psychedelic age throughout the house…the art is worth the stay.
The overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming—a place where you can enjoy Prineville without being right downtown. Starbucks is just two streets away, the Dollar Store is nearby, and one of the best restaurants in town, the Pioneer Club, is within walking distance.
