The best of Portland is within walking distance - Munjoy Hill (also known as the East End), the idyllic Eastern Prom (an expansive park with playground, public tennis courts, walking trails, beach, and kayak rentals) - and a pedestrian waterfront trail leading directly into the Old Port, and further to the Arts District with cultural venues, museums, and lots of local shops.
