Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: This is a small lakefront resort with little individual cabins spread between the waterfront up into the woods. The cabins are quaint and remind you of a bygone era. Our unit had a small kitchenette, bathroom, living room, or seating area, and queen bed. The cabin was cooled with a mini-split AC unit. The cabin was a really nice location and fairly close to Hot Springs, which is the location of one of the most unique national parks we have ever been to——be sure to check it out! We always appreciate having a unit where we can cook our own food, especially breakfast because eating out on the road is tedious and often expensive.

Negative: There are several small things that could be done that would knock this location out of the park. First would be a deep, thorough cleaning, including all of the windowsills, top of the refrigerator, and microwave (especially since that’s allow pets). I would also recommend taking an inventory of the kitchen and making sure there are couple of decent non-stick skillets and sufficient silverware. All of the blinds need to be replaced as they were either damaged or inoperable. There is a strange gap and the LVP flooring by the bathroom, the bathroom bulbs are mismatched, and it appeared the shower pipe is leaking behind the wall because each time there was a large puddle on the floor in the front corner next to the tub (cabin #7). This appears to have been ongoing for some time. All of these small details just added up to a missed opportunity because each thing is an easy fix in itself, but just diminishes the overall experience. Because of the unique little cabins and wonderful location on the lake, they don’t have to be fancy, just functional.

Summary: A few fixes would knock this unique cabin resort out of the park!
